A school bus can be a difficult and enclosed environment
for testing and maintaining equipment; in addition it can be a daunting task to
seek technical support over the phone only to have to return to the bus to apply
any recommended solutions. Recognizing a significant need for assisting with installation,
programming, testing, maintaining and troubleshooting school bus video camera
systems on a daily basis, Gatekeeper Systems Inc. has developed a solution that
allows our clients to set up a complete work station outside of the school bus
environment.
Included in the package is a 5" black and white monitor
which can be utilized on the bench using AC power or on the bus using batteries.
The monitor can assist with programming the VCR recorder
and ensuring that your camera is positioned for optimum field of view. The camera
and harness that are included with the TPS™ is identical with that which
is currently used within the bus, therefore they can act as a viewing tool on
the bench or spare components should an existing camera or harness require service.
The AC power supply and Control Module allow the VCR recorder
to be plugged into AC power on the bench thus eliminating the requirement to have
the unit plugged into the school bus electrical system. The ignition control module
simulates bus functions such as: ignition, warning, brake and stop arm activation.
When used in conjunction with the monitor and camera, these components complete
the work station allowing you to test individual components on the bench while
utilizing our free technical phone support for assistance.
The head cleaning cassette and digital multi-meter are
additional tools to provide direct assistance with maintenance and finding/troubleshooting
wiring connections.
The primary focus of the TPS™ is to save valuable time
and money through streamlining the installation and maintenance processes. The
increase in efficiency is accomplished by allowing our clients to test and/or
operate the individual system components on or off the bus thus reducing potential
downtime in some cases by thousands of hours over the product life.
